Smith Insurance Receives The Prestigious Business Partner Of The Year Award

Smith Insurance received the prestigious Business Partner of the Year Award from the Pennslyvania and Delaware Valley Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI) in December 2011.  This award is given to a CAI Business Partner that has provided extraordinary service and support to an individual community association and the industry as a whole.

In additon to receiving Business Partner of the Year, Carrie Smith of Smith Insurance won the Rookie of the Year Award.  The Rookie of the Year Award is given to a volunteer in his or her first year of service who has gone above and beyond what is asked and expected of chapter volunteers.

Essentials of Association Insurance – CAI Education Session, March 6, 2012

Steve Smith Jr. and Megan Whelen were invited to provide a management education course to members of the Pennsylvania and Delaware Valley Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI).  They provided an overview of Community Association insurance and discussed  the types of coverages Community Associations need in today’s marketplace.  Because the governmental requirements and lender requirements for community association insurance is continuously changing, this type of class is imperative for community managers.  Smith Insurance happily provides this type of seminar to 3rd party Community Management companies on an ongoing basis.  Please contact Carrie Smith at (215) 542-5959 x 124 if your Community Association or Management Company would like a similar presentation.  

 

Cyber-Liability presentation to GPCMA and CAI, January 18, 2012.

Brian Friel from Smith Insurance was asked to present on cyber liability insurance for a join education session for  the Pennsylvania and Delaware Valley Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI) and the Greater Philadelphia Condominium Manager’s Association (GPCMA).   He discussed the insurance industry’s response to today’s technology trends utilized by Homeowners and Community Associations.  

 

Mold and Insurance Presentation to GPCMA, October 12, 2011

Brian Friel from Smith Insurance was invited to present to the Greater Philadelphia Condominium Association (GPCMA) on Mold and Insurance in October, 2011.  Brian discussed the first major legal case of a mold claim, and explained how it has impacted the insurance industry over the past decade.
